VERITY – MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE FOR OVER A CENTURY.

For over a hundred years, the Verity name has been a catalyst for contemporary products in markets throughout North America. From plows and farm implements to aircraft parts, the Verity family has established a reputation for high quality.

Today Crown Verity focuses on providing superlative commercial kitchen equipment to food service professionals. Manufacturing barbecue grills, patio heaters and portable sinks, Crown Verity emphasizes versatility and portability in all its products. Enabling professional and amateur chefs to be brilliant anywhere.

1892  W.H. VERITY & SON

The company relocates from Exeter, Ontario to Brantford and changes its name to Verity Plow Co., producing cultivating equipment and plows. During this time, they gain a nation-wide reputation for the integrity of their products and their exceptional customer service.

1897  Verity plow co.

A disastrous fire destroys much of the company. Undeterred, however, they rebuild and continue to grow, expanding to include 700 employees. During this time, another company with a strong influence on the Verity name incorporates.

1910 CROWN ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING COMPANY

Crown Electrical Manufacturing Company is the first company in Canada to make lighting fixtures, fireplace assemblies, portable table lamps and brass artware. Over the next quarter-century, its reputation for quality and workmanship will lead to country-wide success, increased sales and rapid growth.

1936 CROWN ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING LIMITED

The Great Depression forces Crown Electrical Manufacturing Company into bankruptcy. To revive it, a new charter is obtained by a group of local men under the name Crown Electrical Manufacturing Limited. P.E. Verity is named president.

30’s – 40’s CROWN ELECTRICAL MANUFACTURING LIMITED

Even with a new charter in place, the company continues to struggle during these lean times. To stay afloat, the company builds component parts for Mosquito aircraft during the Second World War. After the war, the company returns to manufacturing lamps and fixtures for markets across the country.

1951  CROWN ELECTRICAL DIVERSIFIES

In 1951, the company becomes a distributor of commercial restaurant appliances.

1974  CROWN ELECTRICAL TRANSITION

Bill Verity starts work at Crown Electric for his father, Jack.  Looking at various commercial restaurant grills, Bill senses he could improve on them.

1991  CROWN VERITY

Like his ancestral namesake, Bill launches his own company, introducing a state-of-the-art commercial barbecue. To this day the company provides food service professionals with superlative portable grills and accessories. In 2015, Bill names Andy Incitti Crown Verity’s new President.
