Where There’s Smoke There’s Fire – Grilling Fire

Ted Reader is an award-winning chef, a cookbook-author, a product developer and all-around barbecue guru.

Turning 50 is a milestone for anyone but for Ted it was a go big or go home kind of milestone. Friends asked what he wanted to mark this special occasion. Being a kid at heart, Ted jokingly said a firetruck would make his day extra memorable.

Ted has pretty good friends. They got him his firetruck – a big, shiny, 1973 vintage Ford fire truck, with all the loud bells and whistles.

The only thing that could make it any better for Ted was adding not one but two Crown Verity Grills to customize the firetruck in a state-of-the-art vehcile that Ted uses for travelling to food events and special occasions.

Back in the New year Ted made a visit to Kreater Customs shop on Kipling Ave in Toronto Ontario. The custom vehicle fabricator shop usually focuses on custom motorcycles and specializes in transforming choppers into moving works of art — but Ted’s firetruck was an exciting challenge.

The transformation was amazing. “I think for the first time in my life, I was speechless!” Reader said. Read more in the article from The Toronto Sun here.
